mtnbike.com.au is excited to announce our second installment of the Australian Mountain Bike Canberra weekend. This is an amazing riding opportunity to hit up some trails with the one and only Mick Ross and there are some other 'pro' riders on the cards... They'll show off some of their well respected riding talent and hopefully some of it will rub off on you!

To start the weekend a skills session will be held. During this block of time you will be coached on techniques such as cornering, braking, obstacles and many more MTB skills. Throughout the weekend AMB will be riding with us and continuing to coach, instruct and session some sections of trails. A truly great way to improve your riding ability and a great learning experience.

mtnbike will depart from two locations in Sydney, 1) North Sydney and 2) Super Centre at Moore Park. Cost is $369 and includes transport of you and your bike, skills sessions, guides, accommodation at the Australian Institute of Sport and food. Spots are available for 17 riders travelling from Sydney, act fast and get your spot sorted.

What are the dates? Saturday 31 March through Sunday 1 April 2012
Overview of the weekend Come ride the amazing MTB trails in Canberra including Kowen, Bruce Ridge and Mt Stromlo on this fully-catered weekend. Plus, Mick Ross (AMB) and ___ (TBC) will be holding exclusive MTB masterclasses. There will also be ample opportunities for riders wanting to explore on their own or ride with guides who know the trails like the back of their hands.
Do I need to bring my bike? Bring along your trusty (not rusty) steed and you will also have the opportunity to demo the latest Giant bikes. Giant will be providing demo bikes on both Saturday and Sunday.
Where is the weekend taking place? The weekend will be based in and around Canberra riding Australia’s best single track and staying at the AIS on Saturday night.
Can I bring my husband/wife/partner/kids? This is a riding based weekend - if they’re riders bring them along.
What should I bring if I am riding? Here is a list of things that we recommend you bring. Please note that this list is not exhaustive, feel free to bring things which are not listed. Toiletries, sunscreen, riding gear for up to five rides and bag for wet/dirty clothes. Other riding equipment you should bring, helmet, spare tubes, mini-pump (there will be track pumps available), hydra–pack, butt butter, tire leavers and muesli bars/gels if you use them regularly. If you are planning on riding after dark please bring some lights and if you are hoping to take a dip at the AIS pool* you should bring your swimmers and a swimming cap. Do not forget to bring riding and 'normal' clothes that are appropriate for March/April weather i.e. arm, leg, head warmers, vest, long gloves. The AIS will supply bed linen, towel, pillows and blankets.
What can I do after the riding and then later in the night? Post the afternoon ride session on Saturday there will be a rider info session featuring: * mechanics from MC Cyclery showing you how to get set up to run tubeless; * reps from Sola Sport to explain how best to set up your Fox Shox;
After the info session there is an “all you can eat” dinner at the AIS. Then you have a few options, have a massage* or head out for some night laps at Bruce or head out for a quiet ales and reminisce about the epic day.
What skill levels are catered for? The weekend is open for MTB’ers of all abilities. Prior to the first ride on Saturday morning there will be a skills session. Riders will then head on trail with their instructor to further work on their skills and ‘session’ a few key sections on the trails out at Kowen. *at own cost
